Kedai Laksam Dabara (Warung D' Sina) is a cherished culinary gem located in the heart of Kuala Terengganu, Terengganu, Malaysia, renowned for its authentic Terengganuan cuisine, especially its signature laksam dish. This restaurant offers diners a genuine taste of local tradition, presented with simplicity yet rich, comforting flavors that resonate deeply with both locals and visitors.
At Kedai Laksam Dabara, the star of the menu is undeniably the laksam – a unique cousin of the more widely known laksa, distinctly crafted to showcase Terengganu’s culinary heritage. The dish features delicate rice noodle rolls bathed in a thick, luscious gravy made from fresh coconut milk and shrimp paste. The sauce is expertly balanced, rich and creamy but not overwhelming, with a fresh, slightly tangy kick that awakens the palate. Each spoonful delivers a silky yet satisfying texture, with tender noodles melding perfectly with the fragrant, aromatic coconut-based gravy.
Long-time patron Aiwa Kun praises the dish for its authentic style, describing the gravy as “pekata tapi serre” (thick yet sharp), a testament to the precise seasoning and quality ingredients used at Warung D' Sina. Another enthusiastic review from Afiqnisms Fuhrer – who humorously notes his discerning "fat guy" palate – declares it the best laksam he has ever tasted, underscoring the dish’s compelling richness and hospitable generosity.
The dining experience at Kedai Laksam Dabara is refreshingly down-to-earth. Expect a straightforward presentation that keeps the focus firmly on the flavors. This no-fuss approach reflects the restaurant’s dedication to authenticity over extravagance and ensures that meals are not only affordable but also invitingly homey. Saiful Azri Jamian, a repeat visitor, highlights the use of fresh coconut milk and shrimp paste, alongside fresh condiments that brilliantly elevate the dish, making it a must-try whenever you're in the area.
For those keen to explore Terengganu’s specialities beyond just their laksam, the restaurant once had an adjacent stall offering seafood noodles, showing their commitment to fresh, local ingredients and flavors – a sign of their authentic local roots and culinary dedication.
Kedai Laksam Dabara is far more than just a place to eat; it’s a gateway into the rich gastronomic tapestry of Terengganu, serving traditional fare that speaks volumes about the region’s culture and culinary pride. Whether you’re a seasoned local or a curious traveler, the warm, hearty flavors of the laksam here will leave a lasting impression, inviting you to return for more of that quintessential Terengganu taste.

I have been here several times. It's known locally for the laksam dish which is served with gravy made of fresh coconut milk and shrimp paste. The condiments are fresh as well. There used to be another adjacent stall that sells noodles (Maggi) with fresh seafood but it has been closed permanently

Love the 'laksam' , a traditional food exclusively made only in Terengganu.. ..the 'cousin' of 'laksa'...
